Josephine is a principal of CMM Quay Legal Group and a Notary Public. Prior to forming CMM Quay Legal Group, she was the principal of Quay Legal Group which she formed in 2000. This history only serves to cement her as a true leader in her chosen field.
She commenced her remarkable legal career in 1986, practicing for 12 of those years as a senior solicitor for the Reserve Bank of Australia.
With over 35 years of experience in commercial law, Josephine is a trailblazer within the industry. As a business owner, employer and partner, she is acutely aware of the needs of her business clients and is able to counter any challenges before they arise.
An excellent listener, Josephine is highly skilled in ensuring the needs of her clients are heard and met. Her strong track record indicates that she fights for her clients, having achieved equal success for both large multinational clients and individuals.
Josephine demonstrates the same expertise and accomplishment from property matters, intellectual property and building and government law to personal legal matters such as wills, powers of attorney and guardianship appointments.
“Working as in-house counsel at the Reserve Bank forced me to look at legal issues from the client’s perspective because I was both an employee of the bank, wanting to achieve the bank’s objectives, as well as its lawyer.
A frequent question I ask myself and my staff is: ‘What would we want if we were in our client’s position?’ In doing this, I have learnt to go further than simply identifying legal issues.
To me, my work is not complete unless I give clients realistic, practical, effective and alternative strategies to consider.”
As much as Josephine enjoys her work, she also enjoys puzzle books, board games and keeping her Italian heritage alive through cooking for family and friends.
